Empty spaces

After selling the mighty Korg M3, the MoPho and the Roland SH-32 there is not much left to work with.

After using the mentioned instruments for two years and recording two albums with them, it really was about time to sell them to attract new energy and instruments in.

New equipment is already being sourced and will soon be purchased!!

Light & Love needed!!

Making a CD is much easier than promoting it, practising for gigs, putting the time and work in. The near future will be the real test for Final Composition. Fingers crossed that we'll make it. Pls send us light and love and support

Back from Dublin

The trip to Dublin was exhausting and exciting and well worth going!

Final Composition picked up their debut album in Glasnevin/Dublin, were interviewed for the Nessycast and Near90FMs Club Cheol, bumped into an old friend of Thomas' and met a fb friend!

Dublin has got to be the city of rip-off prices but hasn't lost any of its charm since Thomas left Ireland last August.

Off to Dublin

Today is the day - Final Composition will be off to Dublin/Ireland later today to collect their precious debut album, do some radio interviews and meet a few people before heading back on the ferry.

"PURE" on sale in two shops in Birmingham ...

... as of next week somewhen.

Final Composition is off to Dublin in two days to pick up their debut album "Pure" and to do two radio interviews.

The CD can already be ordered (see upper right hand side of the blog).

For those of you who are in Birmingham we are proud to announce that PURE can be purchased in two shops in Digbeth/Birmingham.

Both the One Earth Shop and the ZEN SHOP have agreed to put our precious baby up for sale on their respective premises!!

The price will also be 10 pounds - To find the small 12x12 CD in the midst of all the great products the shops are offering, we have created the flyer you see here, which is printed on two sides.

Lots of things

Just messin' for the camera, lol

Final Composition got together yesterday to talk about a few things that are happening or need to happen.

A gig in autumn at the ZEN Shop in Digbeth/Birmingham is confirmed (no date as of yet), a performance or even a number of performances at the Cube Arts Centre in Erdington/Birmingham may surface soon.

Rob Simcox got in touch and offered a video interview, which the band will do soon and Final Composition is currently looking into a new photo session to promote the album once out.

Sarah also gets to sing a German song "Dein Schmerz" written by Thomas and they worked on the pronounciation of some of the more difficult words yesterday. Goes without saying that Sarah is a natural and the song will sound awesome.

Instruments for sale

It is a long standing tradition (mostly out of necessity tho) to sell off and then buy new equipment after recording an album.

For the last two albums, namely "TJ - Love Letters From Cyberspace" and "Final Composition - Pure" we have used the same instruments and are now selling off bits and pieces, which we then replace with other equipment.

This method is well proven as one likes new toys and becomes creative while just fiddling around.

Updates

Thomas and Sarah will travel to Thomas'previous home Ireland in late May to collect their debut album, which is currently being manufactured by MMI.

While in Dublin FINAL COMPOSITION will be interviewed for DCU FM's "Culture Cafe" and Near90FM's "Club Cheol".

There is also talk of performing a short acoustic set on World Vegan Day (November 5th) at the One Earth Shop in Birmingham.

We were busy checking websites and getting quotes and even with all the generous donations we have received, we will not be able to include our precious lyrics, which will be uploaded on tj-music.com once the CD is finished.

Here is the artwork of the CD, which is still subject to change since we don't know yet whether or not the printer of the chosen duplication company can print that sufficiently.

CD goes into print!!

Amazing - a longtime TJ fan and ex-workmate of Thomas has put up the completion funds for the CD production. Together with Ex-Digital Dreams vocalist Franca Ludwig the CD has been made possible by people who believe in the music and have no interest in business or deals!! Big thumps up!! CD will go into print within days now.

CD release delayed! Sponsors needed

Pre-approved credit to finance the cd has been denied although they've checked everything and told us money will be in the account within a week :-( we will find a way. all we need is between 500 - 1000 pounds. sponsors welcome. We are willing to make deals!

Are we there yet?

Almost! We have finished recording the album. Tracklist is almost established and the CD will consist of either 16 or 17 tracks. Not sure yet!

The cover/booklet needs to be worked out, a 6-page brochure and labels for the actual album have been created.

We will sign off on the final tracklist tomorrow.

Sarah is still busy with an important course until July, therefore we will lay low until then.

The album shall be available before our first gig in August.

Updates

Earlier this month Sarah attended celebrations for Thomas's animal rights show WILD TIME at the Warehouse Cafe in Birmingham.

Recordings for the debut CD will commence in a few days and Thomas has started working on the CD cover and an accompanying 6-page-booklet.

Final Composition has now been added to the events page on the London Vegan Festival website.

Very first photoshoot January 16th 2011

After a great and healthy vegan lunch (courtesy of Sarah) we headed down to a place known as "Spaghetti Junction" in Birmingham, where we took almost 70 pictures to highlight the band.

The pictures are intended for newspapers, press-kits, brochures and probably the CD cover.

All that is left to do is finding radio stations and newspapers that would like to feature us.

Short Bio: Thomas "TJ" Janak

Thomas was 23 years old when he released his first album back in 1990. Now, almost 21years later, the album count stands at 12 and “Final Composition – Pure” (work in progress) already turned out to be the “lucky 13”. As he himself puts it: “I was looking for a singer and made a friend”.

Being a musician and songwriter since the age of 13, Thomas, who will turn 44 in March, TJ as he is known to many, is proudly looking back on 30 years of making music.

Originally from Germany, the birthplace of electronic music, he spent 10 years in Ireland before moving to the UK in August 2010.

Over the years many of his albums reached high chart positions in different independent charts, including a # 4 in 1994 (Digital Dreams – Hitech Systems) and a # 1 (1997’s TJ – Pure Love). He has won an award for excellence in song writing by VH-1 in 2005 and his latest albums have both been critically acclaimed and have even been described as “ear candy”.

It is nonetheless fair to say that TJ never wanted to be a singer and is happiest to provide songs for female vocalists and to work in conjunction with others rather than being a solo artist.

Thomas is also a holistic animal healer and shamanic teacher and vegan for roughly about three years.

Short Bio: Sarah Hoyle

It was a sunny day in October outside Birmingham's main shopping mall. A small group of Animal Equality speakers were looking out into a sea of busy shoppers. Sarah didn't have much time before a microphone was in front of her and she was being interviewed for a local radio station. That was the first time she has been on the radio and it was the first time she met Thomas Janak.

A month later she saw a post on facebook requesting a female vocalist and inspired by their first meeting decided to reply...

Final Composition is the result.

Sarah was born and raised in the West Midlands but following her taste for electronic music found herself frequently visiting various parts of Europe. Sarah grew up with animals and has been vegetarian for twelve years. Sarah turns 24 in February and is embarking on a new path in the music industry. She moved to Erdington in 2007 and is thrilled to be working on the latest project with Thomas.

FINAL COMPOSITION have just recorded two more tracks, including a song that is dedicated to all non-human slaves.

The debut album is slowly taking shape!
